Seattle - Strike by Port Truckers 4th update
10 Feb 2012
Hapag-Lloyd informs about latest development on Seattle Port Trucker Strike.
Further to our Customer letter of February 9, 2012
We regret to advise that the Port of Seattle harbour draymen still do not accept dispatches. This is continuing to affect local drayage within the port, including trucking between port and rail ramp and causing considerable congestion within the port facility.
In the meantime, we have succeeded to move more import cargo by using additional on-dock rail opportunities and we expect to clear all outstanding intermodal import cargoes by Monday, February 13.
We are in the process of developing an action plan to address this issue in the coming weeks. We do expect, however, that import intermodal cargoes will continue to move with slight delays while the lack of draymen situation continues in Port of Seattle. We appreciate your patience and continued support.
We will keep you updated as soon as we develop further information on the situation.
