Haiti Port Situation

14 Jan 2010

Hapag-Lloyd informs about the situation after a disastrous earthquake

As you will be aware, the country of Haiti experienced a large earthquake on January 12th, the impact of which is still being determined today.  Initial reports indicate that significant damage has been sustained by the port facilities, although surveys will need to be undertaken in the coming days to assess the situation and determine the actual impact on port operations.

In the meantime Hapag-Lloyd has suspended import bookings to the country of Haiti until further notice.  Bookings will resume as soon as it is clear when the port will be safe and operational.

Additional information will be distributed as soon as it is available.
