EU Regulation 1875/2006 – Exit Summary Declaration (EXS) - Swiss origin cargo loaded via German ports
17 May 2011
Hapag-Lloyd likes to inform you that since May 1, 2011 German Customs requires the declaration of security data elements.
We would like to inform you that since May 1, 2011 German Customs requires the declaration of security data elements as per Annex 30A for cargo originating in Switzerland and to be loaded onto a vessel which will leave the territory of the European Union. Normally, Swiss origin cargo railed to Hamburg or Bremerhaven is arriving without this declaration. In this case the carrier is responsible for filing an EXS with Customs.
In order to ensure that the EXS transmission to Customs will be done - also in case of merchant’s haulage - we need to know at time of booking, whether origin of goods is Switzerland or Goods are transported from Switzerland by rail/combined rail to Hamburg or Bremerhaven.
You will understand that in order to safeguard a smooth process we require your shipping instructions at least 72 hours prior to arrival of the mainline vessel (excluding Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays). We reserve the right to change this documentation closing if necessary. If so, you will be duly informed.
