We would like to inform you that new tax regulations for all import cargoes have been established in the Dominican Republic.
Regulations require documentation to include the following:
Import:
- Tax ID number for consignee and notify party is required to show on Bill of Lading.
- All Consignees including ‘To Order’ must be domicile in the Dominican Republic and have a valid address and telephone number.
Exception:
- New requirements do not apply to FROB (Freight Remaining On Board) and transhipment cargo.
Failure to provide required information on Bill of Lading may result in Customs clearance delays and/or penalties might be assessed to shipper or consignee, as imposed by the Dominican authorities.
