Kollision: MV KHALIJIA 3 und MV MSC CHITRA OFF MUMBAI/JNP Harbour channel

Hapag-Lloyd informiert über die aktuelle Situation.

This is to inform you that on 7th August 2010, at around 0940 hours there was a collision between the Khalijia 3 and MSC Chitra off the Mumbai/JNP entrance channel.


Due to this hazard the Mumbai Port Trust and JNP have stopped navigation in the channel since the collision took place and there has been no further update of resuming movement of vessels.

Import-Cargo


The Port´s closure and uncertainty as to when operations will resume has caused major disruptions in service and has left us no choice but to deliver the cargo arriving on EPIC service vessel MV Thuringia Express 327 to an alternative port, namely the port of Mundra, Gujrat.
As per the original Booking Confirmation, the carriage of the cargo in question is subject to the Terms and Conditions of our standard Bill of Lading/Seaway Bill as the case may be, and the Hapag-Lloyd AG.


In accordance with the above mentioned applicable Terms and Conditions you may select one of the following options:
1. You may pick up the cargo at the port of Mundra, with the movement of the cargo beyond the port area to be for the risk and expense for the cargo.
2. Hapag-Lloyd will proceed to discharge the cargo at Mundra and proceed to deliver the cargo via an alternate routing and/or means of transportation that it deems reasonable, with all additional costs incurred with respect to the movement of such cargo to be for the account of the cargo.

We request that you provide us with written confirmation of your preferred choice within (24) hours of your receipt of these presents in order that we may initiate the necessary arrangements.

 

Export-Cargo (lying in Nhava Sheva area)

 

The cargo in question is currently stored at the said Port. We will advise you as soon as operations at the Port of Nava Sheva return to normal and provide you with delivery details in due course.
As per the original Booking Confirmation, the carriage of the cargo in question is subject to the Terms and Conditions of our standard Bill of Lading/Seaway Bill as the case may be, and the Hapag-Lloyd AG Tariff applicable hereto.
